The Sunday Telegraph Sued for Mafia Member Suggestions

Daniel Taylor, also known as Daniel Ibrahim, brought an action against The Sunday Telegraph over a 24-page spread published in the newspaper in June titled "Inside the house of Ibrahim: Unauthorised". In that story, the son of John Ibrahim was suggested to be a mafia member.

Ibrahim alleges that the story was overly sensationalised and was meant to injure his reputation.

When someone accuses you of being a mobster on a paper of general circulation, he may be liable for defamation. Surely, being painted as a criminal ruins a person’s reputation when there is no truth to it.
